Post Draft Review and Preseason Power Rankings

Aug 24, 2017

BROOKLAND, ARK — Fantasy Football is finally back. The annual Association Fantasy Draft was held last night and it has the whole league abuzz.

Draft night was an overwhelming success for the owners in The Association. To accompany the draft, the owners also held a board meeting (more like bored meeting, am I right?) moments prior to the first selection. There were a few rule changes, some surprise picks, and of course, tons of laughs (mainly from making fun of each other in very cruel fashion, per usual) at the Association Draft 2017. Let’s take a look at what went down.

Exclusive look into the Board Meeting of Association Owners, 2017

Rule Changes:

Before the August 23 draft, seven of the 12 owners met to vote on some rule changes. An eighth owner showed up to vote on the final amendment, but one owner had left before he could vote. All motions required at least a 7-5 majority to pass. Since seven owners were present, it required a unanimous vote from the present owners for a motion to pass.

Here are the rule changes that were passed prior to the draft:

  • League dues will be $20 per team. The team that wins the championship will be awarded $140. The team that loses the championship will be awarded $60. The team that wins the third-place game will be awarded the remaining $40. The motion passed 7-0.
  • Ties will no longer be allowed in the Association. If two teams finish a game tied, the win will be awarded to the team with the higher scoring starting kicker. If the kickers tie as well, it will be deferred to defense. If the defenses also tied, it will defer to the flex, followed by the tight ends, WR2, WR1, RB2, RB1 and finally QB. The win will be awarded by the Commissioner at the conclusion of the playing week. The motion passed 7-0.
  • The team that loses the last-place playoff game will be subject to punishment. The punishment was agreed upon, but will not be formally disclosed at this time. The motion passed 7-0.
